Ruckus in the Rompus Room

This is what my husband said to me this morning. He was going to be making some ruckus in the rompus room. Say what? Apparently that is code for making noise in the kitchen. That one, he kills me.

I love Thursday. Not only because it is so close to the weekend but also because of the Thursday night comedies.  Mostly for Parks and Rec and 30 rock, but I still have love for the office even if Pam is way to sassy. Yesterday at work I felt like I was living an episode.

Boss: “ If you can sell $800 more today you get 10 point”
(Note: I am not a salesperson, I am an accountant)
Me: “ What does 10 points get me?”
Boss: “Don’t worry about that”
Me to coworker : “ I hope 10 points equal a Schutebuck”
Coworker: “ Maybe we can pool our point together to get the boss to tattoo his butt”
End scene

Unfortunately, I didn’t sell my quota last night so we will never know what 10 point is worth.

Happiness is finding a giant J.Crew package waiting for you when you arrive home. Sadness is consequently having your husband look at you as to say how much did said giant package cost. Fortunately for him and my bank account nothing looked as good as I hoped and I will be returning most of it.  At least I have my favorite J. Crew item to fall back on. I love this sequin skirt. At first I thought it was too dressy for everyday, but I have been trying to not keep my beautiful pieces just for special occasions.

p.s. Don't you love my new bracelet? It almost looks like leaves or wings. It was also come in very handy for my upcoming Halloween costume.

Weekend Recap

Nook

This weekend was just what we needed.  On Saturday night we went to supper at "The Nook" for the most delicious burgers.  No really  I'm not just saying that. "The Nook"  has been featured on "Diners and Dives" and have been voted St. Paul's best hamburger.  Let me just say it lived up the my expectations. The downside was the wait. We though we were beating the rush by arriving at 5:00pm, howver  there was already an hour and a half wait.  Luckily we got in quite a bit quicker than that.  Usually I complain that there is not enought cheese on my cheeseburger. Not this time. Ah mhazing. (Ala  Penny Hartz)

Next my lover and I went for a walk about Summit Ave which is so beautiful , especially in the fall. All sorts of stunning houses from as far back as the 1850's. Including a house which once belonged to F. Scott Fitzgerald.  After we rambled through the neighborhoods we stopped for some coffee. Perfect evening.

Bonfire

Sunday night we had our own private bonfire full of smores, falling leaves, and contentment.

Powerhouse Preppies

Shirt: Ann Taylor  Scarf: Old Navy  Jeans: J.Crew  Shoes: Sperry

Just when I thought all the fall colors were over. I woke up this morning and saw the beautiful fall colors against the gray sky. Too bad my super cute Sperry's got cut out of the picture.

All day I was feeling preppy, which made me think of my favorite preppy, Zack Morris. One of my favorite episodes is the one where Casey Kasem comes and they have a dance competition. Zach and Jessi perform a routine named the “Powerhouse Preppies”. I may or may not have learned the dance just in case Mark-Paul came to sweep me off my feet I would be ready to perform it with him.

What I wore: Dress Anthroplogie, Jackets: Anthropologie, Boots: DSW

Last night my bestie and I went to the Sound of Music sing-a-long. It was so magical. It was complete with people dressed as every character, lots of singing, and even some fireworks. I underestimateD how great it would be to see those classic moments on the big screen. Amazing.
